Bioceramics: How Far have We Come?
Root canal obturation involves sealing the space created after biomechanical instrumentation and disinfection with gutta perch and a sealer. However, the introduction of tricalcium silicate cements has changed the philosophy of the seal to a sealer based obturation, instead of a gutta-percha predominant one. Te presentation is an overview of evidence-based evaluation of the chemical, physical and biological properties of Bioceramics pertinent to endodontics primarily as a sealer. Published research will be critically reviewed and clinical cases presented demonstrating the technique and its modification. Clinical cases presented demonstrating the applications in various other treatment modalities, such as vital pulp therapy, endodontic microsurgery, reimplantation, revascularization etc.

At the conclusion, attendees will be able to: 

• Have an evidence-based evaluation of the chemical, physical and biological properties of Bioceramics pertinent to endodontics.
• Be able to evaluate the advantages and limitations in clinical use.

Dental Traumatic Injuries: Striving for the Best Outcome
The incidence of dental trauma is highest in the first two decades of life, and hence, the young permanent anterior teeth are of particular importance in traumatic injuries. Successful retention of these teeth is paramount to longterm esthetic, function and health of not just the oral cavity but also the physiological impact the loss may have on these young patients. Tis presentation reviews the latest guidelines by IADT and AAE, to understand how and why they have changed over time. Treatment options and prognosis for each type of injury based on the biological goals are reviewed, and current literature discussed.

• Review the biological sequelae of dental traumatic injuries.
• Evaluate treatment aims based on current guidelines to maximize positive outcome.
• Recognize possible future treatment trends in dental trauma.

External Root Resorption: Retaining the Tooth
Resorption is a challenging pathological condition to manage. Whether the restorative defect is a result of traumatic injury or idiopathic, decisions to treat or not to treat, how to treat are not always straightforward but may require multidisciplinary approach. Tis presentation is an overview of pathogenesis of the resorptive process. With the understanding we will explore various clinical solutions. Te current guidelines provided by ESE for resorption will be discussed along with clinical case and management options.
