The 7th Quadrennial Meeting of the World Federation of Neuro-Oncology Societies, held in conjunction with the 30th Society for Neuro-Oncology Annual Meeting & Education Day in beautiful Honolulu, Hawaii! This year’s meeting is particularly special, as we celebrate SNO’s 30th anniversary—a milestone that underscores three decades of progress, collaboration, and innovation in neuro-oncology.

The World Federation of Neuro-Oncology Societies (WFNOS) serves as an international collaborative platform that unites neuro-oncology organizations from around the world. By fostering global partnerships, WFNOS aims to advance research, education, and clinical care for patients with tumors of the central nervous system. Held every four years, the WFNOS Quadrennial Meeting is hosted by one of its charter societies, and in 2025, it is SNO’s privilege to bring this prestigious gathering to the United States.

SNO is immensely grateful to our colleagues from across the world who are contributing to the program, with a special thanks to the European Association of Society of Neuro-Oncology and the Asian Society of Neuro-Oncology, who are helping to ensure a robust, interdisciplinary exchange of knowledge and ideas.

2025 SNO Annual Meeting: November 21-23, 2025
Statement of Need/Program Overview:
The Society for Neuro-Oncology’s Annual Meeting is the largest and most influential meeting for multidisciplinary collaboration in the field of Neuro-Oncology in North America. This year, the SNO Annual Meeting will be held in conjunction with the 7th Quadrennial Meeting of the World Federation of Neuro-Oncology Societies. The World Federation of Neuro-Oncology Societies (WFNOS) serves as an international collaborative platform that unites neuro-oncology organizations from around the world. Held every four years, the WFNOS Quadrennial Meeting is hosted by an international society, and in 2025, it is SNO’s privilege to bring this event to the United States.

At the meeting, the latest advances in Central Nervous System (CNS) cancers will be shared with an international audience that includes a variety of sub-specialties involved in basic and translational research, clinical as well as symptom management research. The meeting fosters opportunities to explore collaborations that will positively influence outcomes for patients with CNS cancers. This year’s meeting will highlight the theme 30 Years of Progress in neuro-oncologic care. This activity is a collaboration of researchers and clinicians disseminating new knowledge to healthcare professionals in order to provide the highest quality of patient care to improve patient outcomes. The goal is to provide healthcare professionals with updated viewpoints, strategies, collaboration opportunities and an increased knowledge base to maximize treatment and improve outcomes for brain tumor patients.

Educational Objectives:
After participating in this CME activity, participants should be able to:

• Explain the latest basic science discoveries in the field of Neuro-Oncology.
• Discuss global challenges of health inequities and health disparities in Neuro-Oncology.
• Discuss advances in multidisciplinary diagnosis and treatment of patients with CNS malignancies. 
• Identify new advances in the multidisciplinary care of pediatric, adolescent, and young adult patients with CNS malignancies.
• Summarize global approaches and international collaboration related to the diagnosis and treatment of Neuro-Oncology patients.

2025 SNO Education Day: November 20, 2025
Statement of Need/Program Overview:
The WFNOS Education Day co-chaired by SNO, EANO and ASNO members will feature two tracks. The “Global Approaches” track will highlight the most significant recent advances in diagnostic and therapeutic approaches to CNS tumors, spanning molecular and imaging techniques, surgical innovations and applications in a global landscape. The “Emerging Technologies” track will in parallel showcase novel concepts pertaining to clinical trial design, drug delivery and biomarkers.

Educational Objectives:
After participating in this CME activity, participants should be able to:

• Explain how artificial intelligence advancements in the field of Neuro-Oncology can improve patient care.
• Compare varying global approaches in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with CNS tumors.
• Describe how emerging technologies are incorporated in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with CNS tumors.
• Explain the “art of cancer care” as it relates to Neuro-Oncology and regional care practices for patients with CNS tumors. 
• Summarize how basic science advances in the field of Neuro-Oncology can be translated into clinically meaningful insights.

2025 SNO Clinical Trial Design and Protocol Development Workshop: November 19, 2025
Statement of Need/Program Overview:
Effective neuro-oncology treatment that encompasses both primary benign and malignant CNS tumors and metastatic CNS tumors remains a largely unmet clinical need with poor prognosis for many patients despite aggressive treatment with standard modalities (surgery, radiation, chemotherapy). Increased availability of and participation in well-designed clinical trials in neuro-oncology is vital for establishing new, effective treatments for CNS tumor patients. This course will emphasize communication across multi-disciplinary teams and provide foundational didactic background knowledge and unique mentored clinical trial design opportunities. This will also allow for collaboration between new and emerging investigators leading neuro-oncology clinical trials and members of the clinical research team to expand the number and quality of clinical trials available to patients with CNS tumors.

Educational Objectives:
After participating in this CME activity, participants should be able to:

• Describe best practice approaches to clinical trial design (phase 0, 1, 2, 3) in neuro-oncology.
• Summarize common options for inclusion/exclusion criteria as well as primary, secondary, and exploratory outcome measures in neuro-oncology clinical trials and their potential impact on enrollment.
• Explain common statistical designs for clinical trials in neuro-oncology.
• Outline the clinical trial pre-activation and post-activation tasks for efficient conduct and analysis of studies.

2025 Neuro-Oncology Review Course: November 19, 2025
Statement of Need/Program Overview:
The Neuro-Oncology Review Course was developed to provide junior neuro-oncologists, fellows, residents, nurse practitioners and physician assistants who attend the SNO Education Day and Scientific Meeting with a concise overview of Neuro-Oncology clinical knowledge, as well as preparation for Neuro-Oncology and oncology boards.  SNO membership includes nationally and internationally recognized leaders in the field and will provide faculty for the program. The United Council for Neurologic Subspecialties (UCNS), a nonprofit organization that accredits training programs (fellowships) in neurologic subspecialties and awards certification to physicians who demonstrate their competence in these subspecialties, has developed a Core Curriculum for Neuro-Oncology Certification. This Core Curriculum helped to guide development of the content of this review course. Content was designed to fulfill the curriculum elements while avoiding undue duplication with the SNO Education Day and Scientific Program.

Educational Objectives:
After participating in this CME activity, participants should be able to:

• Summarize multidisciplinary treatment modalities for the management of primary and secondary CNS tumors based on updated brain tumor classifications. Summarize common options for inclusion/exclusion criteria as well as primary, secondary, and exploratory outcome measures in neuro-oncology clinical trials and their potential impact on enrollment.
• Recognize the signs and symptoms of medical complications affecting Neuro-Oncology patients.  Outline the clinical trial pre-activation and post-activation tasks for efficient conduct and analysis of studies.
• Discuss the unique challenges associated with treating patients with CNS tumors across the age continuum.
• Identify strategies to integrate supportive and palliative care into the care of patients with primary and metastatic cancers of the CNS
