Practical Course in Interventional Thoracic Sonography is organized by Austrian Society for Pneumology (ASP) / Osterreichischen Gesellschaft fur Pneumologie (OGP) and will be held on Nov 20, 2025 at Ottakring Clinic, Vienna, Wien, Austria.

Contents:

• Theoretical and technical principles of ultrasound-guided interventions on the thorax
• Focus: Ultrasound-guided biopsy of thoracic tumors
• Common intra- and extrathoracic pathologies (thoracic wall, ribs, pleura, lung parenchyma, mediastinum, cervical lymph nodes)
• Indication, risk assessment, and complication management
• Contrast-enhanced ultrasound
• Hands-on training on the gel phantom and the goat thorax

Aim of the Course:

• Knowledge of the different ultrasound-guided intervention options
• Independent performance of ultrasound-guided biopsies
