Paediatric Advanced Cadaveric Trauma Surgery (PACTS) Course 2025 is organized by Newcastle Surgical Training Centre (NSTC) and will be held from Nov 27 - 28, 2025 at Newcastle Surgical Training Centre, Newcastle upon Tyne, England, United Kingdom.

Course objectives:
This course is a two day hands on cadaveric operative workshop for surgeons, anaesthetists and theatre nurses likely to be involved in the operative management of major trauma in children. We combine team decision making and communication under pressure with operative techniques.
The operative techniques focus on management of truncal and junctional zone injuries. the lectures, discussions and case studies explore the principles of damage control surgery in children, working in multi-speciality surgical teams and the human factors of managing under extreme pressure. Experience is shared from military and humanitarian surgeons as well as recent major incidents in the UK.

Please note: The course fee will include: lunch and refreshments. Payment can be made via BACS (automatic bank transfer) by Debit/ Credit Card. Payment is due at registration to secure your place. Refunds cannot be given in the event of your cancellation within 8 weeks of the course date.

The NSTC cannot accept liability for costs incurred in the event of a course having to be cancelled as a result of circumstances beyond its reasonable control. However, within 8 weeks prior to the start date of the course, the total course fee will be charged unless in exceptional circumstances at the discretion of the NSTC.

While we make every effort to run courses as advertised, we reserve the right to change the timetable and/or the teaching staff without prior notice and to cancel any courses without liability (in which case there will be a full refund of course fees to participant).

Note that any consequential losses (e.g. travel or accommodation costs) incurred in such cases remain the responsibility of the booker, and consideration should be made to taking out appropriate travel insurance for any non-refundable costs.
