Description:
This 6 hour course will provide an in-depth exploration of custom splinting techniques for common hand conditions. The course will focus on three key splints: the wrist cock-up orthosis, forearm-based thumb orthosis, and hand-based digit extension orthotics. Emphasis will be placed on hands-on lab practice, understanding when to apply each type of orthoses, and recognizing the role of orthotics in treating specific diagnosis. Participants will also receive a brief overview of differential diagnosis as it pertains to hand injuries and conditions.
