Description:
Endocrine surgeons trained in specific high-volume surgery units, and the regular use of new technologies have minimised complications related to haemorrhage and injury in the inferior laryngeal nerve. However, no other procedure has allowed to minimise trauma to parathyroid glands rather than developing an accurate surgical technique before the advent of fluorescence.

Currently, both Autofluorescence to identify PGs, and Angiography with ICG to guide thyroidectomy and evaluate viability of PGs in situ, has proved solid evidence on improving outcomes related to PG function after thyroidectomy.

In addition, remote access to thyroid using fluorescence will also be present in our Meeting.
