Technique:
Since the practice of orthodontics began over a hundred years ago, functional causes of malocclusion have been recognized.

Despite this, many orthodontists still remain committed to the genetic etiology of malocclusion, ignoring the functional causes and respiratory disorders that have been well documented since the time of Dr. Edward Angle.

Now, in the 21st century, many doctors have realized that orthodontic techniques that omit retraining lead to permanent, lifelong retention. Harmful facial changes are often a concern for parents.

Physicians worldwide are now using functional therapy devices in conjunction with breathing exercises. Patients worldwide who receive this treatment experience the benefits of improved facial structure, non-extraction treatment, and real stability.

Nowadays, we treat function first, then teeth. "Widen the jaw to accommodate the tongue, not just the teeth." Once there's enough room in the jaw for the tongue, we need to train the tongue to support this new shape. Nasal breathing is key in this situation.

I have developed a program of alignment correction and breathing exercises that I have used with over five hundred children over the past five years.

• Presentation of cases in patients with mixed dentition

Day two

• Anatomy of the skull
• Soft tissue analysis
• Lip and tongue position analysis
• Dental arch expansion in mixed dentition
• Presentation of cases
• Implementation of the program
• How to use available protocols to develop treatment options
• Presentation of one or two patients with mixed dentition, based on which the diagnosis will be presented.
• Practical exercise.
