Menopause: Midlife and Thriving - A Caring for Women CME Conference is organized by The Ohio State University Center for Continuing Medical Education (OSUCCME) and will be held on Feb 28, 2025 at Fawcett Center, Columbus, Ohio, United States of America.

Description:
Our patients in women’s health are struggling with physical symptoms and quality of life because of the complications of menopause – we have designed this CME event to empower providers to assist their patients through this transition. Should we order hormone lab tests? Which ones? What to do about abnormal uterine bleeding? How do we address vasomotor symptoms in someone with risks for cardiovascular disease? These and many other topics surrounding midlife for women including weight gain, most effective exercise strategies, aesthetic and dermatologic topics and genitourinary troubles will be addressed in this dynamic, information-packed day.

Objectives:

  • Recognize and define menopause, including all of its stages, and feel confident in a diagnostic strategy
  • Diagnose genitourinary syndrome of menopause; choose and initiate treatment options
  • Utilize a variety of formulations and delivery types of hormone treatment of menopause, as well as non-hormonal options
  • Feel more confident in understanding and managing the symptoms of menopause in breast cancer and cardiovascular patients
  • Be informed of the current state of menopause in the US and understand potential policy updates
  • Have new tools to assist patients in starting resistance training programs and focused nutrition strategies
  • Address mental health issues in midlife, especially the rise of ADHD
  • Interact with menopause experts who can serve as a collaborative provider community.
