Description:
This course will discuss the Centers for Disease Control Guidelines for Dentistry and subsequent updates regarding proper infection control standards and recommendations. Believe it or not, this class is fun because it involves your participation as well as mine. I like to have everyone ask questions throughout our time together to keep things interesting and germane to you and your concerns.

• Differentiate between OSHA and CDC Guidelines
• Demonstrate how to avoid cross contamination in your practice
• Concentrate on safe implementation of inexpensive practices to protect
• you, personnel, and your patients
• Review the Centers for Disease Control infection control guidelines

Learning Objectives:
At the end of this course, participants should be able to:

• Describe universal and standard precautions 
• Identify and describe disease transmission and infectious hazards in the dental setting
• Discuss occupational exposures and prevention, post-exposure management and prophylaxis to blood borne pathogens
• Establish objectives, goals, and management of an infection control program in the dental setting.
