Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) Vaccine Science Academy 2025 is organized by International AIDS Society (IAS) and will be held from May 06 - 08, 2025 at Dakar, Cap-Vert, Senegal.

Description:
The HIV Vaccine Science Academy aims to support early and mid-career researchers conducting HIV vaccine research in Africa by providing training, networking and mentoring opportunities. The Academy is designed to help participants establish themselves as independent researchers and team leaders in their respective host institutions. This support helps to sustain research, strengthen collaborations and foster research ownership in Central, East, Southern and West Africa, as part of the effort to develop a safe and effective HIV vaccine.

The objectives are as follows:
• Provide training on HIV vaccine research and development, including vaccine design and use of relevant scientific tools and skills (such as scientific writing).
• To provide a unique opportunity to engage and discuss with leaders in the field of HIV vaccines, in a retreat setting, to establish and facilitate collaborations in HIV vaccine research.
• To support participants in establishing a sustainable network between different research institutions and create momentum for research carried out by researchers from the African continent.
