High-Acuity, Low-Occurrence (HALO) Course is organized by Center for Emergency Medical Education (CEME) and will be held on Sep 30, 2025 at San Antonio, Texas, United States of America.

Description:
Through this interactive, one-day course, we will provide participants with a hands-on experience performing high-acuity, low occurrence critical emergency procedures.

Introduction to HALO Procedures

Physicians will rotate through each station in groups of 5.

Station 1: Airway Management

Rapid Sequence Intubation (RSI)
Fiberoptic Intubation
Surgical Airway Management

Station 2: Resuscitative & Circulatory Procedures

Resuscitative Thoracotomy
Transvenous Pacing
Tube Thoracostomy & Needle Decompression

Station 3: Obstetric & Neonatal Emergency Procedures

Perimortem Cesarean Delivery
Postpartum Hemorrhage (PPH) Management
Neonatal Resuscitation & Airway Management

Station 4: Advanced Vascular Access, Eye & Chest Procedures

Lateral Canthotomy
Lumbar Puncture
ECMO Cannulation

Learning Objectives:

Enhanced Proficiency in High-Acuity, Low-Occurrence (HALO) Procedures
- Participants will develop hands-on expertise in performing critical emergency procedures such as resuscitative thoracotomy, perimortem cesarean delivery, and surgical airways through simulation-based training.
