20th International Conference on HIV Treatment and Prevention Adherence (Continuum 2025)

The Continuum 2025 conference, scheduled for June 10-12, 2025, at Caribe Hilton, San Juan, Puerto Rico, will bring together clinical, behavioral, social science, and community experts in HIV prevention, treatment, and care under the theme, Reframing HIV Care. The 20th anniversary conference will highlight the latest evidence, strategies, and innovations in the field of HIV care with the aim of promoting collaboration among clinicians, researchers, policymakers, and community advocates.

A key feature of the conference is the introduction of a new track focused on primary care and health-related quality of care (HR-QoL). This additional track underscores the growing recognition of the importance of addressing the full spectrum of health and well-being for people living with and affected by HIV. By focusing on the intersection of HIV clinical management, primary care, and the broader aspects of HRQoL, the conference will reflect a holistic person-centered approach to HIV care that centers overall physical, mental, and social health in the HIV response. The conference’s six tracks represent critical pillars for optimizing HIV outcomes: prevention, treatment, care continuum optimization, primary care and HR-QoL, implementation science, and social determinants of health.

In addition to a Keynote Address, Memorial Lecture, and Memorial Colloquium, the Continuum 2025 conference will feature plenary sessions, panel discussions, and oral and e-poster abstract sessions, offering attendees an opportunity to engage with thought leaders and innovators. Attendees will also have an opportunity to experience the vibrant culture of San Juan, PR, a Fast-Track City with a long-standing commitment to health equity.

The conference will be preceded by pre-conference sessions on June 9, 2025.

The conference’s six tracks represent critical pillars for optimizing HIV outcomes:

• HIV Prevention will cover biomedical, behavioral, and structural interventions, including PrEP; 
• HIV Treatment will showcase advancements in ART delivery and person-centered HIV care;
• HIV Care Continuum will highlight efforts to close gaps across HIV prevention and treatment continua;
• Primary Care and HRQoL will focus on integration of HIV and primary care to enhance health outcomes;
• Implementation Science will explore how research can be effectively translated into practice; and 
• Social Determinants of Health will examine structural barriers/facilitators affecting HIV outcomes.

Educational Objectives:
Upon successful completion of this activity, learners will be able to:

• Implement strategies to improve antiretroviral therapy and pre-exposure prophylaxis outcomes.
• Apply implementation science principles to deliver high-impact, scalable HIV interventions.
• Demonstrate how community engagement in HIV prevention and care enhances service delivery.
• Assess the impact of key social determinants of health on HIV responses and outcomes.
• Integrate primary care, person-centered care, and quality of life considerations to optimize HIV outcomes.
