This workshop is for Rehab Professionals only who want to have a deeper understanding of the power and science behind BFR and its application to the injured community. This 1-day (8 hour) workshop provides a BFR Training Rehab Specialist Certification upon successful completion and passing of a written examination at the end of the workshop.

In this comprehensive program, you'll:

  • Master the unique benefits of exercise under vascular restriction in both rehabilitation and performance settings.
  • Gain hands-on experience with various BFR technologies through in-person labs.
  • Collaboratively apply your knowledge to real-world scenarios with clinical case studies.
  • Explore the impact of BFR training on athletic performance.
  • Leave confident in your ability to safely and effectively use BFR with diverse patient populations, backed by strong evidence-based practices.

Learning Objectives:
Upon successful completion of this course, the practitioner will:

  • Discuss importance of muscle protein synthesis, recruitment of type 2 muscle fibers within the injured, post-operative, elderly and athletic populations
  • Evaluate the benefits of BFR training with respect to the early post-operative and injury periods using passive and neuromuscular stimulation approaches
  • Discuss BFR aerobic exercise in clinical practice within injured, post-operative, elderly and athletic populations and how it may enhance physiological processes thought to enhance aerobic capacity and/or performance
  • Discuss BFR resistance exercise in clinical practice within injured, post-operative, elderly and athletic populations and how it may enhance physiological processes thought to enhance muscle mass, strength and/or performance
  • Demonstrate assessment of LOP using manual and automatic cuff technologies
  • Discuss differences between different cuff technologies and potential benefits/limitations to their use
  • Discuss case studies and design/demonstrate a BFR treatment plan of care
