Description:
There exists a significant practice gap in the use of multi-institutional data sharing and analysis between neurosurgery programs.  The field of neurosurgery deals with relatively rate diseases and as such there is a dearth of data in terms of both observational and interventional studies related to the specialty.  The aim of the Big 10 Neurosurgery Consortium is to address these gaps by gathering together speakers who have experience organizing and executing multi-institutional research.  There will also be sessions whereby the group presents research questions, studies, and gets feedback on these in a panel-type format.

Objectives:
At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:

• Discuss multi-institutional trial network development;
•  Collaborate on multi-institutional prospective clinical trials;
•  Develop contracts and agreements to facilitate collaboration;
• Explain the advantages of a single IRB;
• Evaluate investigator initiated clinical research trials.
