OVERVIEW

Basic Residents Laparoscopic Surgery Course 2025 is organized by Centre for Minimal Access Surgery (CMAS) and will be held from Oct 16 - 17, 2025 at St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.

Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to incorporate the following important behaviours and practice guidelines into their clinical practice:

  • Discuss the principles of trocar incision and the diagnostic of laparoscopy
  • Understand principles, techniques, results and complications of basic laparoscopic surgery 
  • Identify limiting factors for laparoscopic Cholecystectomy and Appendectomy 
  • Learn the surgical skills and techniques required to safely and effectively perform laparoscopic surgery 
  • Keep current with peer-reviewed literature relevant to the course topic
