Advanced Hazmat Life Support (AHLS) Provider HT25 is organized by Karolinska Institute / Karolinska Institutet (KI) and will be held from Nov 25 - 26, 2025 at Stockholm, Stockholm, Sweden.
About the course:
The course is a two-day concept training developed at the University of Arizona and has been available since 1999. The content is regularly reviewed and updated by the American Academy of Clinical Toxicology (AACT).
Offering an international concept training like AHLS in Sweden has several advantages. For example, it can mean that Swedish emergency personnel use the same standards and methods as their colleagues from other regions and international colleagues. In Europe, AHLS is available as training in the Netherlands, Switzerland, Italy, Germany and Ireland. This enables uniform and consistent handling of hazardous substances, which is particularly important in cross-border incidents or when international cooperation is required. Participants also have the opportunity to learn from experiences and best practices from other countries.

Purpose and Goals:
In the changing world situation, increased knowledge and capacity in the CBRN area has been deemed important. AHLS is a specialized training course aimed at healthcare professionals, emergency services and experts who deal with chemical accidents and hazardous materials. The goal of introducing AHLS in Sweden is to strengthen national and regional preparedness for potential chemical threats. This leads to a faster and more effective response to incidents, which reduces the risk of serious harm to people and the environment.
