8th World Congress on Gerontology & Geriatrics - 2025 is organized by BioGenesis Health Cluster and Indo British Geriatrics Council and Bangalore Baptist Hospital (BBH) and will be held on Oct 12, 2025 at J N Tata Auditorium, Bangalore, Karnataka, India.

Aims of the Conference :
Our aim through this conference is to raise awareness about the speed of population ageing and, more generally, about the experience of being old in our changing world. Abuse, neglect and violence against older persons are much more prevalent than currently acknowledged, and points the way towards more effective prevention strategies and stronger legislation that can protect their human rights.

Focus of the Conference:
Recognize the inevitability of population ageing and the need to adequately prepare all stakeholders (governments, civil society, private sector, communities, and families) for the growing numbers of older persons. 

• Ensure that all older persons can live with dignity and security, enjoying access to essential health and social services and a minimum income through the implementation of national social protection floors and other social investments.
• Support communities and families to develop support systems which ensure that frail older persons receive the long-term care they need and promote active and healthy ageing.
• Developing comparative research on ageing, and ensure that gender and culture-sensitive data and evidence from this research are available to inform policymaking.
• Overwhelming burden of disease in older persons such as non-communicable diseases (NCDs),Ischemic heart disease, stroke and chronic lung diseases which are the biggest killers. Visual and hearing impairment, dementia and osteoarthritis which are the main causes of disability.
• Injuries, particularly those caused by falls, in older persons are an often unrecorded but frequent event, which may start a downward spiral in health status, resulting in death or long-term care needs.
• Dementia is the greatest cause of years lost due to disability in developed countries and the second greatest worldwide The total number of people with dementia worldwide in 2010 is estimated at 35.6 million and is projected to nearly double every 20 years, to 65.7 million in 2030 and 115.4 million in 2050. The total number of new cases of dementia each year worldwide is nearly 7.7 million, equivalent to one new case every four seconds.

• Conference Sessions will combine basic, translational, and clinical researchers and will feature a unique format of short, focused talks centered on critical open research questions, along with interactive panel discussions. Speakers will explore the impact of chronic diseases (e.g., HIV/AIDS, diabetes, and cancer) and their associated therapies on rates of cellular and organism aging in an attempt to elucidate the molecular mechanisms by which chronic diseases and treatments can accelerate age-related health decline. Participants will identify knowledge gaps and future directions of research required for a more complete understanding of the relationship between chronic diseases and aging.
• Cellular and organism decline with aging has been shown to promote chronic disease pathology, however insufficient research has focused on the inverse relationship, i.e., how chronic diseases and associated therapies can accelerate the onset of age-related changes.
• It will strengthen knowledge in key topics such as; tau aggression; risk profiling; investment options; MRI imaging and biomarker evaluation, whilst looking at the practicalities of meaningful data from trials and keeping attendees at the forefront of therapeutic breakthroughs to adapt to the growing need for new treatments. Understanding behavioral and psychiatric symptoms will be a major focus, as will hearing from a selection of pharmaceutical companies currently modeling disease progression. • This two day international academic congress will bring to light the current research and treatments being developed for Alzheimer’s disease. Alzheimer’s disease has been recognized as the most prevalent form of dementia; an ever-growing issue in an ageing society. Over three days the Alzheimer’s disease summit will discuss many aspects of disease progression, development and treatment in an informal academic setting. Topics for discussion include prediction and prevention strategies, vaccine development, drug discovery and care. With plenty of opportunity for networking and debate, this informal international meeting will bring you up to date with current research and thinking regarding Alzheimer’s disease.

The main topics are preoperative care, surgical treatment, rehabilitation, secondary prevention, research and policy change.
• Aging is the largest risk factor for panoply of chronic diseases, which impose huge burdens on societies and economies. An underexplored yet critical aspect of aging is the multiplicity of cellular phenotypes that emerge in aging metazoans.
• Health care around the globe is facing extraordinary challenges due to demographic changes, changing patterns of diseases, budgetary restrictions and changing expectations of patients. Health care is increasingly becoming caring for older people and yet we know health care is often not fitting their needs. Nurses play increasingly important roles in efforts to tackle these challenges. They are key players in the provision of safe, high-quality and efficient health services. Their key role makes nurses increasingly subject of criticism and blaming by the media when quality care is not provided. Are nurses failing to deliver quality care? What education do they need? How can nurses live up to the expectations of the public? How can patient and public involvement contribute to the quality of nursing care? To face these challenges and to ensure nurses contribution to quality care an essential step is the strengthening of evidence based practice and innovation.
