Description:
The STSA Annual Meeting is a four-day educational event that takes place each November. Every year, approximately 500 STSA members and meeting attendees convene for a preeminent educational program, hosting over 20 hours of live educational content. The STSA Annual Meeting is famous for its lively discussionmanship and collegial and social atmosphere. It is the perfect venue for connecting with old friends and colleagues, networking with STSA members, and sharing time with family.

The Annual STSA Exhibition takes place in conjunction with the Annual Meeting. Companies are invited to participate in the Exhibition for the chance to showcase their latest technological advancements and products available to cardiothoracic surgeons and to network with prospective customers.

Activity Goal:
This activity is designed to address the following core and team competencies: Patient Care, Medical Knowledge, Employ evidence-based practice, Utilize Informatics, and Work in Interdisciplinary Teams.

• Describe the recent advances in aortic surgery and approaches to cerebral protection.
• Describe the approaches to improve outcomes in coronary revascularization, with an aim of minimizing readmission and improving long term outcomes.
• Describe current trends in management of advanced lung and esophageal cancer and explain the strategies to improve outcomes.
• Discuss the recent advances in managing complex congenital heart diseases in young infants and in adults with congenital heart disease.
• Explain the various approaches to measuring quality and efforts to improve outcomes in patient care.
