OVERVIEW

5th African Epilepsy Congress (AEC) is organized by International League Against Epilepsy (ILAE), International Bureau for Epilepsy (IBE) and will be held from May 16 - 18, 2025 at Mulungushi International Conference Centre (MICC), Lusaka, Zambia.

Description:
The AEC has always been more than just a conference — it is a vibrant platform where science meets community. In 2025, we are committed to making this the premier event for anyone passionate about epilepsy, a neurological disorder increasingly recognized as a "health priority" in alignment with the WHO Resolution on IGAP. Together, we will explore groundbreaking advancements in both basic and clinical epileptology, address key social issues related to epilepsy, and strengthen the bonds among researchers, clinicians, caregivers, and healthcare practitioners from across the African continent.

The 2025 programme promises to be dynamic and impactful, featuring innovative sessions, including a dedicated teaching day on Epilepsy Training in Adult Medicine (ETAM), and a forward-thinking workshop on Artificial Intelligence in healthcare. These initiatives reflect our commitment to advancing knowledge, fostering collaboration, and creating deeper understanding within the epilepsy community.
