This year, the event will once again be held entirely in person —a conscious commitment to lively scientific exchange, direct networking, and personal encounters.

As always, the focus of the congress will be the meetings of our research and cross-sectional groups, which will provide space for progress reports, project ideas, and intensive discussions. The plenary sessions, featuring state -of-the-art presentations, will be presented live on-site and offer insights into current developments within our working groups.

This year 's Political Forum will focus on the impact of the Medical Research Act (MFG) on academic studies. We aim to bring practical, scientifically relevant, and focused discussion to the intersection of academic research, medical law, study coordination, and research-based pharmaceutical companies. We also want to provide a broader perspective on how the MFG presents itself in the European context and how we can learn from our international partners.

In addition, a special personnel milestone is approaching during the congress: Following the board election in June 2025, the ceremonial handover of office to the new board will take place as part of the AIO update during the autumn congress.
