This marks the first in-person rhinoplasty course hosted by UC Irvine since the onset of the pandemic. The program will feature a broad and diverse guest faculty, including outstanding surgeons from private practice, fellowship directors from the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS), and professors representing many of California’s leading academic training programs in facial plastic surgery.

Headlining this year’s rhinoplasty course is Dr. Roxana Cobo, an internationally recognized rhinoplasty surgeon from Cali, Colombia, widely regarded as one of the most prominent figures in the field. The course will span two days, Saturday and Sunday, with approximately 8–9 hours of educational content each day. It is designed to meet the needs of both beginner and advanced rhinoplasty surgeons, offering a comprehensive program that includes core lectures, video sessions, and specialized talks focused on innovative techniques and complex surgical challenges. Topics will include preservation rhinoplasty, piezo-assisted surgery, structural grafting, revision rhinoplasty, and managing complicated phenotypes.

The rhinoplasty track continues a tradition of excellence established by its predecessors. Previous participants have included renowned surgeons such as Roger Crumley, the late Dr. Leslie Bernstein, Russell Kridel, Rollin Daniel, Peter Adamson, Rick Davis, Oren Friedman, Fred Fedok, Spencer Cochran, Raj Kanodia, Andrew Frankel, Paul Nassif, Tom Wang, Dan Becker, and Deborah Watson. This impressive legacy underscores the value of the UC Irvine Rhinoplasty Course in advancing the art and science of rhinoplasty.

In addition to the rhinoplasty track, this year’s event will also feature a dedicated Office-Based Aesthetics program. Directed by Dr. James Newman, this course track is presented in partnership with the California Pacific Society of Facial Plastic Surgery and is designed to have a multi-specialty focus. The injectable workshop will include live patient demonstration-style teaching with large-screen video broadcast. Expert faculty will highlight their individual techniques for facial procedures using the latest injectable products. Both the rhinoplasty and aesthetics courses will feature faculty from both academic institutions and private practices, offering participants a balanced and practical educational experience.

The conference will also bring together exceptional faculty focused on current best practices and recent developments in practice management and marketing strategies. This multi-faceted program reflects the continuing evolution of aesthetic and functional facial surgery and the collaborative spirit of the UC Irvine educational mission.
