OVERVIEW

2025 Canadian Ophthalmological Society (COS) Annual Meeting and Exhibition is organized by Canadian Ophthalmological Society (COS) / Societe canadienne d ophtalmologie (SCO) and will be held from Jun 19 - 22, 2025 at Vancouver Convention Centre, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

Description:
This meeting boasts an outstanding international and Canadian faculty presenting the latest in ophthalmic research and practice. The COS Annual Meeting and Exhibition includes invited lectures, scientific papers, wet labs and workshops, as well as networking opportunities and an extensive exhibition of ophthalmic equipment and services.

We are thrilled to present an exceptional scientific program, featuring over 50 sessions across all subspecialty areas in ophthalmology.

Highlights this year include a new stream dedicated to artificial intelligence and ophthalmology (including an AI Symposium), symposiums for Young Ophthalmologists and Residents, and Medical Students, two accredited co-developed symposia, and renowned keynote speakers from around the world. We are especially excited to welcome Dr. Julie Schallhorn (University of California, San Francisco) as this year’s Harold Stein Innovator Lectureship speaker, and Dr. Nathan Congdon (Ulverscroft Chair of Global Eye Health at Queen’s University Belfast, Ireland), the Canadian Journal of Ophthalmology Lectureship speaker.

Additionally, there are numerous opportunities to earn Section 3 credits through various Surgical Skills Transfer Courses (seven, with four new this year!) and six Self-assessment Programs. You can also earn Section 2 credits by exploring our ever-growing e-poster platform, where top authors will walk you through their research.

Our lively trade show provides an opportunity to reconnect with industry partners, explore the latest treatment options, and discover cutting-edge medical devices shaping the future of ophthalmology.

Learning Objectives:
By participating in this year’s meeting, attendees will:

  • Integrate into their practice, knowledge and skills gained from the sharing of Canadian and international research and scientific studies
  • Discuss recent advances in the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases
  • Compare and contrast core concepts, new advances and clinical experiences by networking with colleagues and internationally renowned keynote speakers
