2025 Annual Meeting of the Southwest Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (SWSOMS) in Collaboration with Osteo Science Foundation (OSF) and Texas Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (TSOMS) is organized by Southwest Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (SWSOMS) and will be held from Apr 03 - 05, 2025 at Loews Ventana Canyon Resort, Tucson, Arizona, United States of America.

Description:
Outstanding young oral and maxillofacial surgery residents from the Southwestern and Midwestern regions will present scienti?ic and clinical research initiatives ongoing at their respective institutions of study.
Upon completion of this activity, the learner will be able to:

• Discuss a broad overview of the extensive clinical scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery residency training programs.
• Inform oral and maxillofacial surgeons in private practice about current advances in treatment modalities, new treatment techniques and procedures, and innovative technological applications that improve patient outcomes.
• Encourage future oral and maxillofacial surgeons to remain involved in clinical research throughout their careers and to support the expertise and evolution of the specialty.

Title: “Tissue Engineering approach to Atrophic Maxillary Alveolar Ridge Reconstruction”
Learning Objectives:

• Understand the biologic process of hard and soft tissue repair and regeneration for the de?icient maxillary alveolar process;
• Understand the biologic cascade of tissue regeneration and use of growth factors and its effect on clinical outcomes;
• Be able to incorporate the concept of using autologous growth factors and gain con?idence in presenting this treatment option to their patients; and
• To incorporate the concept of “Biologic Layering” into your surgical routine. 

Title: “Tissue Engineering approach to Mandibular Alveolar Ridge Reconstruction”
Learning Objectives:

• Imaging and diagnostic planning for mandibular alveolar ridge defect reconstruction;
• Surgical approaches and soft tissue management;
• Space maintenance techniques;
• Principles of tissue engineering; and
• Contemporary Tissue engineering graft components.
