Mark your calendars and join your colleagues in Nashville, Tennessee for ACG’s Hepatology School and the Southern Regional course, December 5-7, 2025. Both programs will take place at the Renaissance Hotel, ideally located within walking distance of many of Music City’s points of interest, including Bridgestone Arena, the Ryman Auditorium, Assembly Food Hall, and more. Whether you are a sports fan, a music lover, or a foodie, there are a wide variety of things to see and do in this exciting city.

Led by Course Directors Paul Y. Kwo, MD, FACG, Nancy S. Reau, MD, FACG, and Mitchell L. Shiffman, MD, MACG, ACG’s Hepatology School, offered on Friday, December 5, is a day-long interactive educational program combining immersion in hepatology and a clinical update on new therapeutic and monitoring approaches. The program content is tailored to reflect the rapid changes in treatment options and national trends meeting the standard of care. After completing ACG’s Hepatology School, attendees will be able to summarize the current management options for HCV and HBV infections and understand the timeline of new drug development for their treatment. Participating in this educational activity will also enable learners to analyze the challenges of treating patients with MASLD, alcohol and non-alcohol-associated liver disease, MET-ALD, primary biliary and primary sclerosing cholangitis, cholestasis, upper GI bleeding and acute kidney injury in cirrhosis, and more. The structure of the program includes a mix of didactic presentations and case-based presentations delivered by expert faculty.

Led by Course Directors Brenda J. Hoffman, MD, FACG and Steven L. Carpenter, MD, FACG, the Southern Regional Postgraduate Course, offered on Saturday and Sunday, December 6-7 will explore areas that gastroenterologists often face in clinical practice and address management updates in a variety of gastrointestinal and hepatic areas. This course will cover multiple topics, including colon, upper GI, liver, endoscopic urgencies, eosinophilic esophagitis, IBD, biliary cannulation tips and tricks, small bowel bleeding, and more. This program offers a mixture of didactic presentations delivered by expert faculty, case presentations, and significant question-and-answer opportunities, as well as a Saturday afternoon hands-on workshop session.
