EmergNP is designed to provide emergency physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, and PAs, as well as out-of-hospital providers, with state-of-the-art information on a wide variety of topics in emergency medicine. An emphasis will be placed on practical application of the evidence-based topics presented.
Learning Objectives:
- Describe current diagnosis, management and treatment of emergency medical conditions including trauma, stroke, cardiac emergencies, poisoning, pediatrics, etc. based on the best evidence related to the topics identified by the American Academy of Emergency Nurse Practitioners as critical for maintenance of competency.
- Develop systematic medical problem solving and patient management abilities in an emergency setting.
- Expand knowledge of common emergencies, their presentations, diagnosis and management, including pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic options of care.
- Improve emergency clinical skills, including both diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
- Describe current, evidence-based information to improve patient care and satisfaction in the emergency department.
- Develop patient-centered, efficient, team-based care in the emergency department.
