About the program:
The Annual Southwest Liver Disease Symposium highlights Banner Health’s commitment to improving the health of our patients and the dissemination of medical knowledge to our colleagues in the medical community. Our Advanced Liver Disease Center and Liver Transplant Program continue to grow at an extraordinary rate while delivering quality and compassionate care to a complex patient population. Join us for a full-day educational event designed for hepatologists, gastroenterologists, transplant providers, and allied health professionals involved in liver disease management. This year’s program will explore a broad range of topics reflecting the complexity and evolving landscape of liver care.
Presentations will cover women’s health and liver disease, the potential reversibility of cirrhosis, and updates on portal vein thrombosis and coagulation disorders in liver disease. The role of bariatric surgery before, during, and after liver transplantation will be examined, along with the clinical application of fecal microbiota transplant in liver-related conditions. Additional sessions will address transplant outcomes for alcohol-associated liver disease and alcohol-associated hepatitis, the importance of timely palliative care in patients with end-stage liver disease, and the management of pulmonary vascular complications related to liver disease. This comprehensive symposium offers participants the opportunity to deepen their knowledge, discuss current challenges, and explore new strategies to improve outcomes for patients living with liver disease.
