11th Operation Workshop Oncoplasty, Implants and Meshes in Oncological Breast Surgery is organized by Brands Minds Media Communication GmbH (BMMC) and will be held from Feb 27 - 28, 2025 at University of Witten/Herdecke, Witten, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.
Description:
The course offers you the opportunity of a 2-day interdisciplinary training with intensive hands-on workshops and exchange with renowned experts.
State-of-the-art topic preparation and intensive hands-on exercises in small groups under the guidance of recognized experts guarantee a focus on practical relevance and concentration on the essentials.
Good aesthetic and functional results, in addition to local tumor control, are now the most important goals of surgical treatment of breast cancer. Oncoplastic techniques have improved the aesthetic results enormously. The basic principles of Oncoplasty are precise planning of the skin and tissue incisions, remodeling of the glandular tissue and repositioning of the nipple-areola complex.
Mastectomies have also undergone significant development. In many cases, a skin-sparing mastectomy (SSM), possibly with preservation of the nipple-areola complex (nipple-sparing mastectomy, NSM), can now be performed instead of a radical or modified radical mastectomy and the breast can be reconstructed immediately. Implants and autologous tissue are available for reconstruction.
Breast surgeons should differentiate between indications, provide comprehensive information to patients, plan operations precisely, adapt the right techniques to each patient individually and master any postoperative problems. New surgical techniques and the corresponding perioperative complication management should be learned.
Additional details will be posted as soon as information is available.
