OVERVIEW
11th International Meeting on Indigenous Child Health (IMICH) is organized by Canadian Paediatric Society (CPS), Association of American Indian Physicians (AAIP), American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), National Collaborating Centre for Indigenous Health (NCCIH) and will be held from Mar 28 - 30, 2025 at RBC Convention Centre Winnipeg, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
Description:
From mental health to infectious diseases, early childhood to adolescence, the International Meeting on Indigenous Child Health is a forum for exploring a range of health-promoting programs and strategies. We encourage presentations and posters that showcase community-based solutions to prevalent health programs.
Conference Objectives:
At the end of the conference, participants will be able to:
- Apply new skills, insights, and knowledge about the multiple determinants of health to benefit Indigenous children, youth and communities.
- Develop multisectoral collaboration and partnerships to work towards achieving health equity for Indigenous children, youth and communities.
- Apply an enhanced understanding of culturally competent care in health interactions with Indigenous children and youth.
- Employ strategies to support the role of traditional health and healing practices in Indigenous communities.
- Identify the links between the environment and the health of Indigenous children, youth and their families/communities
