Synergy in Implant Dentistry – the Bernese Interdisciplinary Approach Course is organized by International Team for Implantology (ITI) and will be held from Aug 19 - 23, 2024 at School of Dental Medicine, University of Bern, Bern, Switzerland.

Description:
This 4-day evidence-based foundation course is designed for clinicians with an interest in the field of implant dentistry. This course presents evidence-based treatment concepts for the rehabilitation of fully and partially edentulous patients. Besides lectures, the participants will see several live surgeries observing how dental implants are placed, bone augmentation performed and biologic complications or soft tissue defects are treated. In addition, the course offers the opportunity of workshops in treatment planning, digital workflows, surgical periodontal and prosthetic treatment concepts. The course involves lectures presenting the underlying principles for treatment solutions and fully documented clinical cases. Several live surgeries demonstrate the placement of dental implants, bone augmentations and the treatment of biologic complications or soft tissue defects. In addition, small-group training in treatment planning, digital workflows, surgical, periodontal and prosthetic is provided in hands-on workshops.

• Alveolar ridge preservation
• Distinguish the indications for immediate, early, and late implant placement
• Biology and indication of bone regeneration in sinus floor elevation and guided bone regeneration vs. the use of narrow-diameter or short implants
• Biology of peri-implant wound healing and regeneration
• Implants in periodontally compromised patients
• Etiology, diagnosis and treatment of biologic complications at implants
• Etiology, prevention and treatment of soft tissue defects at implants
• Risk assessment and maintenance care
• Discuss biological and implant prosthodontics complications, their prevention and treatment
