Professionalism in nursing and midwifery practice underpins the consistent provision of safe, effective, person-centred outcomes that support people, their families and carers, to achieve an optimal status of health and wellbeing.  

Education and training are pivotal to the development and retention of a professional workforce which can develop and deliver strategies, redesign services and co-produce care capable of addressing inequalities and improving health outcomes. Increasing demands for health and care services and the need to address workforce shortages and skills, in the context of an ever-growing complexity of health needs and imperative for more integrated services, means that the need for high quality professional education and training has never been greater.

The focus of the RCN Education Forum national conference 2024 addresses this context and celebrates educational practice which enables and supports professionalism across sectors and at all levels.

The conference programme will showcase abstracts that cover four topic areas:
• Sustaining and developing the educator workforce 
• Evolving and innovative models of workforce training and education
• Innovations in nursing education programmes
• Quality improvement and innovation

Learning Objectives:
