International Vascular Biology Meeting 2024 is organized by North American Vascular Biology Organization (NAVBO) and will be held from Jul 02 - 05, 2024 at Beurs van Berlage, Amsterdam, North Holland, Netherlands.

will bring together investigators from all fields of vascular biology for the exchange of new concepts and discussions of outstanding questions in the field. Presentations of the latest discoveries will be provided by internationally recognized scientists and emerging young stars. Nine key-note lectures, over 80 main talks divided over 30 sessions, >100 short talks for junior researchers – selected from the submitted abstracts, award sessions for outstanding contributions in the vascular biology field, science in the box sessions for PhD students, and a vibrant crowd of basic scientists and clinicians at the center of translational cardiovascular medicine are the ingredients for what already promises to become the Vascular Biology Highlight of 2024

Our conference scientific statement “You are as healthy as your blood vessels”:

Cardiovascular diseases are still the most prominent cause of high mortality and morbidity in Western society. Vascular dysfunction is at the basis of ischemic cardiovascular diseases, hypertension and diabetes. Single cell and spatial transcriptomics technologies have recently identified novel cell types, RNA species and molecular mechanisms that may govern vascular dysfunction but also provided insight into signaling cascades that can promote tissue regeneration. These new findings may open up novel therapeutic avenues and provide the basis of game-changing highly selective vascular and cardio-biology treatment regimens. To achieve this, integration of basic knowledge derived from various fields including genetics, developmental biology, neurobiology, inflammation, systems biology together with detailed imaging approaches, need to be integrated and evaluated in a (pre) clinically relevant setting. We will showcase the latest developments in the field of (non-coding) RNA biology, cardio-biology, multi-omics, and present the concepts emerging from basic and (pre)clinical studies in particular with respect to treating (ischemic) cardiovascular diseases.
