Knowing what the ECG is, how it is created and what it says is part of the skills of nurses working in acute care. The ability to distinguish a normal ECG from an ECG with abnormalities and take appropriate action can save a patient's health and life.
• Learn the basics of ECG and ECG interpretation
• Recognizing arrhythmias and their dangers
• Understand the importance of the ECG in conjunction with other monitoring techniques
• Detecting changes in the ECG in selected diseases
