Clinical Genetics Advanced Practice Provider Conference (CGAPP) 2024 is organized by Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) and will be held from Sep 18 - 20, 2024 at Kimpton Journeyman Hotel, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States of America.

Description:
CGAPP is not a credentialing course in Genetics, nor is it designed to be a 101 class to understand the basics of Genetics. CGAPP focuses on the APP who provides care for genetic and metabolic patients on a regular basis. Presentations will include advanced topics within Genetics.

Learning Objectives:
Participants who engage in this educational intervention will be able to: 
Know the -omics approach to genetics.
Understand the past, present, and future history of the Undiagnosed Disease Network. 
Learn how neuromodulation is helping functional GI disorders and hypermobile EDS patients.
Debate ethical considerations in medical genetics.
 Have a foundational understanding of skeletal dysplasias, overgrowth syndromes, and RASopathies
Learn about the research process, the importance of clinical trials, and what genetics research/clinical trials is the NIH working on.
Breakout groups will provide an opportunity to learn about additional metabolic topics including PKU and acute concerns, or learn about variant interpretation, best practices with updates in clinical guidelines.

Nurse Practitioner:
The Medical College of Wisconsin, Inc. is approved as a provider of nurse practitioner continuing education by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners: AANP Provider Number 150930. This program has been approved for up to 13.5 contact hours of continuing education (and up to 2.5 hours of pharmacology). Nurse Practitioners should claim only those hours actually spent participating in the CME activity.

Physician Associate:
