Description:
This is very popular among the Senior Trainees, Fellows and Consultants providing an opportunity to interact and share experiences with the distinguished faculty from across the Globe in topics of major interest within our specialty. Over the years, this annual meeting has grown bigger attracting faculty and delegates from various countries and has provided a stable platform for participants to enrich their knowledge and develop new ideas that can be transferred in their clinical and academic practice.
The main part of the Meeting is run over two days in conjunction The British Society of Intraoperative Neurophysiology, the National Paediatric Spinal Anaesthetist Network and the national group of our Spinal Liaison Nurses, Spinal Physiotherapists and Orthotists. We strongly encourage close collaboration with our Anaesthetic Colleagues and Allied Health Professionals who will be running their own sessions but who will also join us for combined discussions that can enhance improvements in patient care.
We expect around 300 participants who are directly involved in the care of paediatric and adult patients with spinal deformities to attend and actively participate in our meeting. Among them, we have several distinguished National and International guest speakers who will provide their expert opinion and personal experience in a range of very interesting and debated topics.
This meeting creates an ideal platform to further promote direct cooperation between Clinicians and our Industry Colleagues who have a vital role in the delivery of care to our scoliosis and spinal deformity patients. This meeting allows for direct interaction between our groups of participants and for our industry colleagues to present their products, newer innovations, and advancement in technologies. There is always a keen interest among delegates to understand and possibly try some of the innovative newer technologies available. This also provides a great platform for personal interactions between clinical and industry colleagues potentially leading to better working partnerships. I personally view this relationship crucial, as this partnership is vital in delivering high quality patient care with the aim to constantly improve our clinical outcomes and reducing complications.
