American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (ACFAS) Arthroscopy of the Foot and Ankle is organized by American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (ACFAS) and will be held from Nov 16 - 17, 2024 at OLC Education & Conference Center, Chicago, Illinois, United States of America. This In-Person Event has been approved for a maximum of 12.5 CECH.

Description:
These interactive two-day, hands-on courses are each led by a faculty of skilled arthroscopy surgeons and gives you the opportunity to learn and practice established and cutting-edge techniques in surgery for the foot and ankle.

The course features 9+ hours of hands-on laboratory time with the latest equipment and techniques on fresh cadaver specimens. Lecture presentations will be enhanced with videos of actual arthroscopic cases. There will be ample opportunity for interaction with faculty.

Learning Objectives:

  • Refine arthroscopic techniques of the ankle and subtalar joint, with a focus on motor skill development.
  • Identify and understand indications for arthroscopic foot and ankle surgery.
  • Effectively perform soft tissue techniques including synovectomy, fibrous band resection, and gutter debridement.
  • Be able to approach, resect and saucerize medial and lateral talar dome lesions.
  • Be able to retrieve loose bodies in the ankle and be introduced to arthroscopic excision of the os trigonum
  • Be introduced to arthroscopy of the small joints of the foot.
  • Understand the risks and complications of foot and ankle arthroscopy and their management.
  • Manage patient cases involving staging principles, intra-op positioning, and fluoroscopy methods.
