It is the aim of this year’s meeting to examine those factors, which incorporate visual and intuitive perception in accordance with technical variations, creating beauty that refreshes but does not astonish.

It has been said that the definition of elegance is the Art of not Astonishing. The aim of all aesthetic surgery is to create, enhance, or restore shape while minimizing signs that a surgical procedure has been performed. Patients seek a natural result, but all too commonly, the stigma of surgical exaggeration becomes apparent postoperatively. While rarely discussed, from our perspective, the etiology of surgical distortion lies not in the technical approach but rather in the acuity of the surgeon’s vision and how the technique is varied to satisfy the artistic needs of the patient.
