10th Annual Transplant Quality Institute (TQI) + Scientific Registry of Transplant Recipients (SRTR) Pre-Conference Meeting is organized by American Foundation for Donation and Transplantation (AFDT), American Society of Transplant Surgeons (ASTS) and will be held from Oct 01 - 04, 2024 at Loews Nashville Hotel at Vanderbilt Plaza, Nashville, Tennessee, United States of America.

Purpose:
The 10th Annual Transplant Quality Institute (TQI) remains true to its founding mission of providing high quality education and resources to professionals responsible for transplant quality, process improvement, and patient safety. TQI has evolved over the past 10 years to meet the changing needs of the transplant community. In 2024, marking our 10th anniversary, TQI is excited to present the next evolution of the TQI Annual Meetings.

With our mission at our core, the 3-day main TQI conference continues to be designed for the experienced transplant and quality professionals to share and expand their knowledge with colleagues and transplant experts. The conference is an excellent balance of updates on the current priorities and drivers of change in our field, in addition to sharing effective strategies to improve compliance, quality, safety and outcomes.

We are very excited to announce the addition of the SRTR Pre-Conference Meeting* which is dedicated to understanding the data, metrics, and tools made available by the Scientific Registry of Transplant Recipients (SRTR) to support quality monitoring within your transplant program. This one-day pre-conference meeting, on October 1, further advances the continued support and partnership of the SRTR to the TQI over the past 10 years.

Recognizing our responsibility to continue to cater to the needs of professionals entering the area of transplant quality, we are pleased to announce that the Foundational Concepts Course is moving to a virtual platform in 2024. This course serves as a valuable refresher on the basics of transplant regulations and QAPI for the new and experienced transplant quality professionals.

10th Annual Transplant Quality Institute (TQI): October 02-04, 2024
Objectives:
Following the three-day Transplant Quality Institute conference participants will be able to:

• Identify current and new initiatives of HRSA, OPTN, SRTR, and the MPSC
• Describe how to utilize leading metrics to monitor program performance in both abdominal and thoracic transplant
• Utilize efforts to improve and leverage EHR technology including best practices from the transplant community
• Discuss new resources available from the OPTN for program improvement
• Describe current trends and improvement efforts related to transplant regulations such as survey readiness and ongoing audit practices
• Share new data requirements from HRSA focused on referral and evaluation phases and the potential impact on transplant centers
• Share novel community quality initiatives
• Discuss approaches for compliance with infectious disease testing and monitoring
• Identify management of pre-transplant metrics including transplant evaluation time, organ offer acceptance rate, transplant rate and pre-transplant mortality
• Explore designs for quality dashboards
• Describe tools to manage adverse events

Scientific Registry of Transplant Recipients (SRTR) Pre-Conference Meeting: October 1, 2024
Objectives:

• Discuss current trends in our nation's transplant system.
• Interpret SRTR reports.
• In-depth review of regulatory metrics, including pretransplant mortality, offer acceptance, and posttransplant outcomes.
• Explain how risk-tolerance impacts metric and how risk adjustment impacts program evaluations
• Review CUSUMS for near-real-time monitoring of trends in outcomes.
• Apply STR tools for performing subgroup analyses.
• Review of OPO regulatory metrics and the tension between OPO performance and transplant program performance

Virtual Foundational Concepts Course: September 3
Objectives:

• Discuss the regulations that gover solid organ transplant in the United States
• Apply knowledge gained to write a transplant @API Plan
• Describe a culture of patient safety and how to manage patient incidents and adverse events
• Implement methodologies learned to conduct process Improvement
• Describe different types and uses of quality metrics
• Identify tools for survey preparedness
• Review concepts of data Integrity related to transplant data management
