Upper Extremity Flap Course

Upper Extremity Flap Course is organized by Sharjah Surgical Institute (SSI) and will be held from Jun 17 - 18, 2023 at Medical and Health Sciences Colleges University of Sharjah, Sharjah, United Arab Emirates.

Why Take this Course?
Soft tissue coverage of the upper extremity continues to be a challenging and evolving field. The priorities in soft tissue reconstruction for the upper extremity are to restore form and function. In the era of free flaps, local flap coverage options for the upper extremity are sometimes forgotten. Therefore, we designed a Two-day course with theoretical and practical sessions offering a wide range of local flaps options for coverage of the upper
extremity from fingertip to elbow. 
All demo sessions will be performed on fresh frozen cadavers per extremity.A full one and half day course that cover 16 possible local and regional flaps in the upper extremity. All candidate will receive a pdf course manual upon registration for the course where they can prepare and study about the flap. This will give us more time to demonstrate and provide hand-on dissection.

Course Objectives:
Learn the basic and advanced anatomy of hand, wrist and upper extremity ·Understand the different options of flap coverage in upper extremity.
