OVERVIEW

Tropical, Travel and Expedition Medical Skills (TTEMS) Course is organized by College of Remote and Offshore Medicine (CoROM) and will be held from Apr 17 - 21, 2023 at College of Remote and Offshore Medicine, Pretty Bay, Southern Region, Malta.

Description:
The College of Remote and Offshore Medicine Foundation provides the TTEMS course. Online instruction is supplemented by a week spent gaining practical experience.
The subject matter covered in Wilderness, Tropical, Expedition, and Travel Medical Skills focuses on the expedition, travel, and tropical medicine. The research on disease and non-battle injuries (DNBI) uncovered in the review of recent military expeditions and deployments served as the foundation for this training course. It concentrates on the twenty most common injuries and illnesses treated in outlying clinics worldwide and the ten most lethal tropical diseases. The protracted field care exercise serves as the module's capstone experience.

TTEMS Course:
The first week of this programme introduces learners to the fundamentals of tropical medicine, expedition medicine and the provision of medical care in isolated and difficult settings. We include extensive experience working on live casualties gained through field care during our training.

Advanced TTEMS Course:
The advanced themes in tropical medicine, adventure medicine, and healthcare practice in distant and extreme locations are covered during the second week of this programme, which is completely elective. This week's curriculum covers an overview of the application of ultrasound in diagnosing tropical diseases and expedition medicine.
