An Introduction / Update on Clinical Skills for Paediatric Habilitation

Description:
There will be an introductory session on pediatric habilitation in this course. Audiologists who are just beginning their careers in pediatric hearing aid clinics or would like an update on the most recent protocols are the target audience for this course. The course is centered on developing skills necessary for efficient therapeutic intervention, and the speaker faculty consists of experienced clinical personnel.

This course will cover everything there is to know about routine pediatric hearing aid clinics, including techniques for testing, hearing aid provision with limited threshold information, RECD, verification and outcome measurements, wireless accessories, and multi-disciplinary teams.

Professionals who deal with audiologists and seek to acquire insight into pediatric hearing aid clinics may find the course interesting.

There will be a workshop on paediatric hearing aid technology and RECD measures on the very last morning of the conference. The following companies are involved in the production:
• Oticon, GN Hearing, and Phonak offer hearing aids for children with a variety of features.
• A presentation and a roundtable discussion about the Phonak RogerTM system.
• Natus, Interacoustics, and WS Audiology — RECD measurements can be taken on these pieces of equipment.

In this course, advanced practice and paediatric assessment methods are not covered.
