State-of-the Art Endoscopic Skull Base Surgery: A Hands-On Course is organized by Academic Event Management and will be held from May 18 - 20, 2023 at Marriott Columbus OSU, Columbus, Ohio, United States of America.

Description:
We have modified the program to start at a higher level of expertise and promote discussions related to treatment algorithms of specific diseases as a response to the increased familiarity with endonasal endoscopic skull base surgery. This was done to meet the demands of the situation. Yet, we acknowledge that it is beneficial to review fundamental ideas, and we have designed our course to accommodate individuals with a wide range of degrees of expertise and experience. As a result of this, we are going to supply the participants with several video lectures and video dissections so that we can satisfy these requirements. The participants will have the opportunity to enjoy the benefits of a traditional lecture-style course based on anatomical and technical concepts and a new interactive format that emphasizes decision-making and disease-oriented discussions. This video-lecture series will be available to them. Participants will register for not one but two courses—a home study course and a hands-on course—at no additional expense to themselves.

The course comprises:
• Pre-course video lectures covering the fundamentals of endoscopic skull base surgery, including topics such as the anatomy of the sinonasal tract and the skull base and fundamental surgical techniques and apparatus. Because the program will begin at a level that presumes knowledge of these principles, these will be delivered to participants who have enrolled for the course one month before the course begins.
• A month prior to the course, videos will be provided on anatomical prosections.
• The dissection manual will be laminated and provided one month before the course.
• A sequence of didactic lectures, roundtable discussions, cadaver dissections (open format), and 3-D anatomical reviews will be presented with cadaveric dissections.
• This will be the first time that live surgery will be broadcast directly to the auditorium where the participants may interact with the surgeons and other members of the faculty.

Objectives:
At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be better able to:
• Explain the endoscopic relationships between the sinonasal tract, orbit, and ventral skull base.
• Analyze endoscopic endonasal surgery of the skull base, pituitary fossa, orbit, and craniocervical junction to determine whether it is indicated and its limitations.
• Recognize and treat complications associated with endoscopic endonasal surgery of the skull base, pituitary fossa, orbit, and craniocervical junction.
• Explain how the trans pterygoid technique allows for greater surgical exposure and anatomical linkages.
• Explain the differences between the endonasal and open conventional techniques regarding relative anatomical exposures.
• Recognize endoscopic skull base surgery complications and how to prevent and treat them..
