The Society for Prevention Research has a vision for a society focused on wellness and in which evidence-based policies and programs are regularly implemented to improve the health and well-being of its residents. This society would be one that would be described as having a "wellness-centered society." This society will encourage healthy human growth and the cultivation of citizens who lead fruitful lives while preserving human relationships with others.

As an opportunity for the Society for Prevention Research to advance this vision, the Annual Meeting provides a unique opportunity to create a centrally integrated forum for the exchange of new concepts, methods, and results from prevention research as well as related public health fields, which provides for a unique opportunity to move forward with this vision. In addition to providing a forum for communicating between scientists, public policy leaders, and practitioners regarding the implementation of evidence-based preventive interventions in the field of public health, the conference also provides a forum for scientific communication.
