This Conference is being organized by the Society for Acupuncture Research (SAR) in 2023, entitled “From Mechanism to Patient-Centered Care: Research in Acupuncture and Traditional East Asian Medicine.” The Conference will offer an exceptional opportunity to bring together essential, translational, and clinical research in acupuncture and Traditional East Asian Medicine in the latest research. More than 100 million people in the United States suffer from chronic pain due to various diseases, and conventional treatments, such as opioid medications, have been unable to treat these conditions. Acupuncture is one of the most effective integrative health interventions in treating chronic pain, with a growing body of evidence and emerging biological basis.

The SAR 2023 conference will highlight four symposia:
• Anatomical basis of acupuncture: Understanding the physiological basis of needling
• Translational acupuncture research: Bridging basic mechanisms with clinical practice
