Ontario Long Term Care Clinicans (OLTCC) 2023 Annual Conference "Practical Pearls in Long Term Care" is organized by Ontario Long Term Care Clinicans (OLTCC) and will be held from Oct 20 - 22, 2023 at Hilton Toronto Hotel, Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
 

Learning Objectives:
Participants should:
• Be more familiar with the unique needs of 2SLGBTQI+ Seniors.
• Feel equipped to use the City’s Leading & Learning with Pride Tool Kit to enhance supports for 2SLGBTQI+ Seniors.
• Understand the importance of community partnership to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion in LTC. 
• Reflect on what is going right in Long-Term care.
• Recommend the short-term improvements for current Long-Term care.
• Provide a future vision for excellence in Long -Term care
• Describe how aging and dementia may impact upon the development of PTSD in seniors.
• Through case examples in LTC explain how impaired executive function transforms the clinical presentation of trauma in Long-term Care.
• Discuss trauma informed care as a philosophy, organizational practice, and individual skill set with direct relevance to Long-Term Care. 
• Develop an operational definition for occupational wellbeing.
• Create a framework whose intention is to improve satisfaction in medicine.
• Learn three concrete steps a person can make to soften the transition from physician to patient. 
• Compare the evidence for different influenza vaccines in older adults.
• Recognize the burden of RSV and recommendations for vaccination of older adults.
• Summarize Fall 2023 vaccine recommendations for residents of Long-Term care including COVID-19 boosters.
