Description:
NDTA™ Certificate courses provide postgraduate continuing education classes to Physical Therapists, occupational therapists, and speech-language Pathologists working with children or adults who suffer from movement disorders related to neuromuscular impairments. The Certificate Course is an entire curriculum that includes instruction in didactics and hands-on lab exercises that allow participants to practice problem-solving and applying interventions, demonstrations of treatment given by instructors, and mentored clinical training in which participants collaborate with various clients. Training in the contemporary practice of NDT as an interdisciplinary team-based approach ensures that all therapists are trained to treat each client with an integrated approach. Therapists of all kinds follow the same material regardless of specialisation. Through their course, they evaluate and treat patients suffering from neuromuscular issues to gain an understanding of each person's posture and dysfunctions in movement and function.

Course Objectives:
Upon completion of this didactic course the participants will be better able to:
• Examine, observe and synthesize efficient and ineffective elements of movement and posture.
• Find the connections between posture, function and motion components and the impairments and systems integrities in people suffering from neuromuscular disorders.
• Demonstrate the effectiveness of NDT analytical reasoning and problem-solving skills, employing assessment findings to formulate real-world treatment strategies.
• Design and implement therapeutic strategies for handling that lead to changes within the patient, such as enhanced sensorimotor performance, attainment of functional goals, and greater participation in important actions.
• Resolve multiple-system and single-system limitations concerning sensory-motor processing, upper extremity function, and visual motor functions. Select effective NDT strategies to overcome functional limitations that are identified.
• Learn to understand and communicate the importance of an interdisciplinarity team approach that includes collaboration across disciplines, the use of adaptive equipment and caregiving education and training for caregivers at home and the in the community.
