Management of Medical Emergencies in the Dental Practice is organized by ADA NSW Centre for Professional Development and will be held on Feb 20, 2023 at Centre For Professional Development, St leonards, New South Wales, Australia. 

Description:
The course is hands-on and can lead to the certification of Advanced Life Support for dentists and their staff. The course is designed to equip the dentist and their assistants with a straightforward method to manage emergencies in the dental practice.

Participants will be taught about the most prevalent life-threatening medical conditions that they can recognize and perform a fast and precise clinical evaluation, and guide the team of practitioners in providing efficient treatments.

Training for equipment will consist of:
• Airway management with advanced airway devices
• Cardio and respiratory support with oxygen therapy supplementary, mask, and bag airflow
• Use of various drugs such as Aspirin, Adrenaline, Salbutamol, Glyceraltrinitrate, and Glucose
• Use of Automated External Defibrillator and Pulse Oximetry

Topics include:
• Team-based approach
• Latest science and techniques
• Assessment of emergency conditions and patient status
• CPR training
• Advanced resuscitation techniques
• Oxygen in medical emergencies
• Airway devices
• Drug protocols.
