Expedition Medicine Course (Nov 11 - 18, 2023)

Expedition Medicine Course is organized by University of Tasmania (UTAS), Continuing Professional Development Unit and will be held from Nov 11 - 18, 2023 at University of Tasmania School of Medicine, Hobart, Tasmania, Australia.

These courses provide both theoretical and practical coverage of the following topics:
• Pre-expedition planning and medical kits
• Wilderness emergency medical response
• Environmental medicine (cold injury, high altitude medicine and avalanche burial and rescue)
• Search and rescue
• Steep terrain rescue
• Use of stretchers and splints
• Leadership and teamwork
• Remote area communications
• Navigation
