European Course on Advanced Imaging Techniques in Neuroradiology, 1st Cycle Module 4 on Morphometry & AI is organized by European Society of Neuroradiology (ESNR), European Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine and Biology (ESMRMB) and will be held from Nov 09 - 11, 2023 at Hilton Malta, Saint Julian s, Northern Harbour, Malta.
Description:
The aim of this course is to convey in-depth knowledge about AI (artificial intelligence) notably with respect to research and clinical application in Neuroradiology as well as automatic brain volumetry and in more generally approaches for quantification. Those topics will be discussed with respect to potential clinical and research applications in Neuroradiology.
This course module is organized along the main diseases in which these techniques are used most frequently. AI tools are currently used most frequently in the context of acute ischemic stroke (detection of infarction, vessel occlusion, hemorrage). Volumetric and quantification tools are currently used notably for neurodegeneration and multiple sclerosis,. In this way, technical and clinical aspects are addressed jointly, providing a profound insight on how to best tailor imaging protocols to specific clinical questions, and how to interpret findings in the context of a specific imaging technique. These topics are taught using a mixture of lectures, case-based workshops, and panel discussions.
Learning Objectives:
• to know the fundamental metholological aspects of AI
• to know the fundamental medicolegal and regulatory aspects of AI
• to know the fundamental methodological aspects of brain volumetry and quantification tools
• to interpret AI and volumetry tools in clinical settings
• to understand further research and validation needed for AI and volumentry
