OVERVIEW

18th Annual Comprehensive Review of Psychiatry is organized by University at Buffalo (UB) and will be held from Sep 14 - 15, 2023 at The Richardson Hotel, Buffalo, New York, United States of America.

Conference Objectives
The goal of this conference is to update the participants on the latest advances in the diagnosis and management of a wide array of psychiatric disorders. Through lectures by internationally renowned speakers, followed by workshops and
small group discussions on various tracks, complex data will be translated into simple, clinically relevant information that will be useful to the practicing clinician. At the completion of this activity, 
the participant should be able to:
1. Identify individuals who present with mental health and co-morbid substance use issues, as well as provide brief interventions, and make referrals to appropriate treatment within the context of routine primary healthcare (SBIRT), with a focus on providing care to Native populations.
2. Appreciate the role of medical ethics codes and the dynamic tension between such codes, societal laws, personal (and religious) values, and the forces of medical consumerism in these dilemmas.
3. Assess data supporting the effectiveness of emerging therapies identified in the treatment of neurocognitive disorders, including Alzheimer’s disease and mild cognitive impairment.
4. Understand innova ve concepts and novel direct ons in the prac ce of emergency psychiatry and understand how to apply such to pa ent care.
5. Dis anguish between developmentally normal experiences of perceptual disturbance as compared to at-risk signs and symptoms of first-episode schizophrenia across the psychosis spectrum.
