The conference subject, "Science Works," is the focus of the program committee. Science and the scientific process have recently been attacked, disparaged, and rejected. According to AAFS President Laura Fulginiti, forensic science aims to provide reliable, unbiased facts that the judicial system, Congress, and the general public can rely on. Additionally, President Fulginiti wants to draw attention to our members who regularly engage in forensic science. The gathering will honor both the history of the Academy of Forensic Sciences and forensic science.
